The Henley Passport Index is the highest authority and offers the original and most complete classification of world passports. It meticulously evaluates passports based on the multitude of destinations their holders can explore without needing a prior visa. With extensive coverage of 199 passports and 227 travel destinations, this index provides users with reliable and unparalleled information on their global access and mobility.
As of January 12, 2024, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Singaporean and Spanish passports offer their holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to a total of 194 countries and territories, followed by Finnish, South Korean, and Swedish passports with 193 countries and territories.
The index has once again labeled the Afghan passport as the least powerful passport in the world, with its nationals only able to visit 28 destinations without a visa. It is followed by the Syrian passport in 29 destinations and the Iraqi passport in 31 destinations.
